Aci Genova, start a student awareness campaign

Automobile Club Genova, in collaboration with the Police Headquarters, Polstrada and Local Police of Genoa, structured a program of interventions in 2023 that runs from January to May to raise awareness of over 1200 students between 6 and 18 years of age on road safety. Many schools have joined the Aci educational formats published on the MIUR platform edustrada.it.

The training interventions are planned in schools of all levels and throughout the province of Genoa and counseling centers for expecting couples will also be visited in May.

Coordination with the police forces has made it possible to integrate the Aci formats with further elements including simulations, quizzes and games with prizes which allow to stimulate the attention of the youngsters.

Topics covered range from restraint systems (seats for younger children and seat belts) to pedestrian crossings and road use in general.

And again the use of bicycles, electric scooters, micro mobility and, finally, the themes of distracted driving and cell phone use, alcohol and drug abuse.

“We strongly believe in training as a tool for preventing road accidents – said Raffaele Ferriello, director of Ac Genova -. The human factor is decisive in 95% of accidents”. The Institutes in which the interventions are planned in this first semester of the year are 14 per 1,200 students involved
