Christiane Engel, who has been Head of Quality Assurance for the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand since June 2020, assumes the dual role of spokeswoman for the company’s board of management and managing director of Volkswagen’s technology division in Osnabrück.
He replaces Jörn Hasenfuß who is ending his active career in the Volkswagen Group after more than 36 years of work and is leaving the company on retirement. Christiane Engel – who has extensive international experience in industrial engineering – started her career in the industrial engineering department of Volkswagen Sachsen in 1992.
After holding other management positions at Volkswagen, she moved to Auto5000 GmbH in Wolfsburg in 2001 to take over responsibility for the work and organization of the factory.
Since 2009 she has been responsible for industrial engineering at the Chattanooga (USA) plant of Volkswagen Group of America and in 2012 she assumed responsibility for work organization and industrial engineering at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
In 2018, Christiane Engel was appointed director of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles plant in Września in Poland, the first woman from the Volkswagen Group to assume this position. Finally, you are appointed Head of Quality Assurance at Volkswagen Passenger Cars from 1 June 2020.
