Over twenty carcasses of abandoned cars were found by the carabinieri of the Compagnia di Ozieri as part of a series of checks throughout the territory of competence, aimed precisely at verifying and guaranteeing compliance with the protection of the environment and the health of people and animals .
The abandoned cars were found in the municipalities of Oschiri, Ardara and Pattada. The military traced the owners of the vehicles, who were sanctioned with fines totaling 25,000 euros. Furthermore, he was ordered to remove the carcasses of cars, considered special waste, and to proceed with the reclamation of the areas where they had been abandoned.
During the checks, the carabinieri of the Alà dei sardi station discovered an illegal landfill in a municipal area, where slabs of asbestos were dumped, a highly polluting material because it disperses carcinogenic dust and fibers into the air.
