Jubilee: yes to the Rome-Anas convention for road resurfacing

The draft Convention between Rome Capital, the Metropolitan City and Anas for the extraordinary maintenance of the main roads of the penetration roads was approved today by the Council. With 200 million euros of jubilee funds, the consulates will undergo a major renovation of the pavement and of the main road infrastructures. The Capitol makes it known.
Anas will be the contracting station for the drafting, approval, and implementation of projects and works, after sharing with Rome Capital and the Metropolitan City which will ensure all necessary support in the execution phases of the Agreement, not least, that of coordinating interventions on road paving with those of the subservice networks.
The construction sites will begin during the summer and will end for the Jubilee. Among the main roads that will be part of the initiative, which in any case will concern all areas of Rome, there are via Braccianese, via Portuense, via Nomentana, via Laurentina, via Prenestina, via Ostiense, via Tuscolana and also many more central streets .
The interventions in Roma Capitale will be carried out at night, between 21 and 6, following a punctual timetable and to limit any possible inconvenience to citizens. In addition, the works will be conducted, where possible, in a narrow lane or alternating one-way, ensuring transitability on the roads concerned.
“We approve another fundamental piece of the redevelopment work dedicated to the entire main Roman road system, starting from the areas furthest from the historic center – underlined the mayor Roberto Gualtieri – We redevelop in depth many strategic arteries, both in and out of the city, precisely considering the extraordinary flows of arrivals that await us.With Anas and the Metropolitan City – he continued – we are putting 200 million euros of funds for the Jubilee on a decisive work that also joins the many interventions already carried out by the Csimu and from the Municipalities on all the rest of the road network; an unprecedented plan – he concluded – to make all the roads of the Capital finally smooth and safe”. “We are adding further roads to the redevelopment plan started with the Giunta Gualtieri – said – the councilor for public works Ornella Segnalini – In this specific case, the agreement with the Metropolitan City allows us to further expand the field of action, intervening on the roads that lead to Rome, with particularly significant flows of pilgrims. We have already worked on about 200 kilometers of main roads in just 18 months, and by the end of our mandate we are counting on completing the plan for the main roads in charge of the Csimu (the department of urban maintenance, ed), i.e. the busiest and for this reason also the most dangerous. At the end of the mandate, all 800 kilometers of arterial roads in Rome will be completely redeveloped”.
