Car inspections, from 2013 to 2022 authorized centers +21.1%

In Italy in 2022 there were 9,172 centers authorized to carry out periodic vehicle inspections. The comparison with 2013, when 7,575 centers were active, shows an increase of 1,597 units (ie +21.1%). This growth underlines the importance of the sector, which is strategic for guaranteeing safety and reducing the environmental impact of the vehicles circulating in our country. The data cited emerge from an elaboration by the Autopromotec Observatory on information from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

The elaboration of the Autopromotec Observatory also offers a regional detail, according to which the greatest growth in the number of centers authorized to carry out vehicle inspections in the last ten years occurred in Campania (+31.4%), followed by Sardinia (+29 .5%), Calabria (+28.3%), Sicily (+26.4%) and Lazio (+22.4%); more contained growth in Valle d’Aosta, which went from 19 to 21 centers (+10.5%), in Trentino-Alto Adige (+8.9%) and in Friuli-Venezia Giulia (+4.2%). As in 2013, also in 2022 the region with the highest number of MOT centers is Lombardy (1,524), followed by Veneto (885) and Lazio (791).
