Mercedes Eqe and Eqs, in the USA electric tuning arrives over the air

In the United States, where legislation permits it, the ‘tuning’ of Mercedes electric models arrives in 100% digital mode, taking advantage of the cars’ connection to the web. It is recent news that the House of the Three Pointed Star has started selling its customers over the air – by subscription from one month up to the whole year – of packages to unlock additional services. The initiative concerns the SUV Eqe 350 and Eqs 450 and the sedans Eqe 350 and Eqs 450.
In the case of the 350 models, the power increase is 60 HP to reach 348 HP so that the acceleration from 0 to 100 is achieved in 5.2/5.1 seconds compared to the initial 6.2 and 6.0 seconds.
The 450 models instead gain 80 HP and bring the total power to 435 HP. The SUV EQS 450 improves the sprint from 0 to 100 from 5.8 to 4.9 seconds while the sedan accelerates in 4.5 seconds instead of 5.3.
The program includes a subscription for Eqe models ranging from $60 a month to $600 a year. Owners of EQS models pay $90 a month or $900 a year for these extra features.
You can also purchase a lifetime version of this performance upgrade, costing $1,950 for Eqe and $2,950 for Eqs models.
