In 2022, the outlay by Italians for car maintenance and repairs rose by 23.4%, according to a study by the Autopromotec observatory.
In fact, it went from 28.6 billion euros in 2021 to 35.3 billion euros last year, a figure that coincides with a significant recovery in work in the workshop which grew by 17%.
The study also reveals that, in part, the increase in expenses derives from a corresponding increase in prices, which rose by 4.1%, due to inflation.
A smaller influence, on the other hand, was exerted by the increase in the vehicle fleet, which grew by 1%. Wanting to make a comparison with the data of 2019, when the expenditure for car maintenance and repairs amounted to 33.4 billion euros, it turns out that in 2022 even this result was exceeded, with 35.3 billion euros overall.
