For what kind of car malfunction is a license taken away: a rule that drivers forget about

Soon, a new vehicle inspection system will be launched in Ukraine, which will force car owners to carefully monitor the condition of their vehicles. Meanwhile, drivers are being reminded that some faults found during a roadside check could cost them not only a fine, but also their driver’s license.

GLOBAL HAPPENINGS talks about such a malfunction. It poses a danger to all road users, therefore it provides for severe punishment.

It’s about driving with the side lights not working. According to the traffic rules in force in Ukraine, all drivers are required to check the serviceability of their vehicles before starting a trip and fix problems in a timely manner.

So, if the light bulb failed during the trip and the driver did not have time to find out, this is not considered an administrative offense. The fine imposed in such a case is considered illegal and can be appealed. But in this case, the driver has an obligation to immediately eliminate this defect.

If the driver ignores the problem and continues to create increased risk on the road, he may be punished more severely. In particular, the Patrol Service has the authority not only to issue a fine to the driver, but in some cases even to deprive him of his driver’s license for up to six months.

Earlier, GLOBAL HAPPENINGS told which motorists in Ukraine may be required to retake a driving test.
