Salvini: ‘Road safety bill next week’

“By next week, as promised, we will bring the bill on road safety”: announced the Minister of Infrastructure, Matteo Salvini, on the sidelines of an inspection of a construction site in Umbria. “Even tonight one found positive for alcohol and drugs killed a boy on the pedestrian crossing, rather than five imbeciles who killed a five-year-old boy to compete, so there will be rules of absolute severity” he added. “Since common sense is not enough – Salvini underlined again – people will have to be afraid, afraid, of getting behind the wheel drugged or drunk”.

“On my mobile phone, I asked the traffic police for a particular grip”: underlined the minister Matteo Salvini on a visit to Umbria speaking of road safety. “Most of the accidents derive from distraction and if I catch you chatting or using the mobile phone you stop. It’s not that I’ll give you a fine but you stop the car there” he added. “We have also foreseen – Salvini said again – that for the first three years novice drivers cannot drive large-engined cars because someone who has had a license for a year if you put a Lamborghini, Porche or something else in his hand, it is not intelligent to do. You’ll have to wait.”
