Mercedes-Benz Cle coupé renews tradition

The new Mercedes-Benz coupé is called Cle and, from next year, it will also have a convertible variant in the range. It is a car that takes advantage of the innovations of the most recent C-class and E-class, and satisfies the needs of customers belonging to both models: a car, therefore, capable of straddling two segments.
At 4,850 mm long, 1,860 mm wide, 1,428 mm high, and with a wheelbase 25 millimeters longer than that of the C coupé, it offers significantly more space than the latter. Aesthetically it presents the characteristics of the Stella coupés, such as the long wheelbase, the strongly inclined A pillar, the short front overhang and the slightly longer rear one. In the side view, two lines stand out that highlight the front and rear ends, while behind the new headlights dominate the scene. The passenger compartment, in addition to offering 10 mm more for the head, 19 mm more for the shoulders and elbows, and 72 mm more for the knees, compared to that of the C coupé, features a 60 liter larger boot.

Technologically, the interior of the Cle coupé features a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation and an 11.9-inch central display oriented towards the driver. There is no shortage of 64-colour dynamic ambient lighting, while the front seats have been developed specifically and, with the Burmester 3D surround sound system offered as an option, have two speakers each at the height of the headrests to create an immersive musical experience by exploiting Dolby Atmos. The infotainment system, however, is the latest generation version of the well-known MBUX.
All engines are mild hybrids with a 48 volt system, with power ranging from the 197+23 HP 2-liter turbo diesel of the 220d, to the 258+23 HP 2.0 turbo petrol of the Cle 300 4Matic.
The driving feeling is increased by the frame lowered by 15 millimeters as standard.
The price list starts from 62,443 euros for the 220d, up to 73,911 euros for the 300 4Matic.
