Recently on the market, the smart #1, which offers the brand’s customers a different dimension for experiencing electric mobility, offers an interesting accessory, a specific bicycle rack for the car, created in collaboration with Thok e-bikes, a brand dedicated to production of high-performance pedal-assisted bikes. The object in question is mounted on the tow hook which can be supplied as an option on the smart #1 SUV, which has a towing capacity of 1,600 kg, and can carry a vertical load of more than 70 kg.
Translated, two bicycles can be transported easily, even specialist and pedal-assisted ones. In fact, once we had placed two Thok e-bikes on the bike rack, we had the opportunity to leave the road and venture onto a light dirt road, to understand how a modern electric car is a car to be experienced at 360° even outdoors, and not necessarily a vehicle intended for purely urban use. Thus, starting near the Vallelunga racetrack, at a pre-established point, there was a real relay from the car to the Thok e-bike, to discover assisted electric mobility on two wheels on a route that led to Calcata, a location known for providing hospitality to important film sets.
The electric, which on the smart #1 offers 428 HP for the Barbus version, and an autonomy of up to 440 km in the WLTP cycle, on the Thok e-bikes allows you to have that support capable of lightening the effort on uphill sections more impervious, so that even Sunday cyclists can venture off-road without hesitation and travel distances that, otherwise, they would never have covered. It is a new way of experiencing the bike, just as the smart #1 represents a new way of experiencing the car: offering a large interior while maintaining compact dimensions (it is 4.27 meters long); a 12.8-inch display from which to manage practically every function of the car; and a silent and comfortable ride in every situation.
