Niagara Concept, Renault’s weapon for international markets

The Niagara concept, shown as a world premiere in Rio de Janeiro on the occasion of the International Game Plan 2027 event, identifies with Renault’s non-European offensive which involves the launch of 8 new models by 2027 and – as Gilles Vidal said , vice president of Renault design – embodies the style of the brand’s future international range”. With Niagara Concept, Renault opens a new chapter in its history on international markets, “bringing a breath of fresh air and modernity”.

Equipped with a strong personality and ‘exuberant’ and modern lines, Niagara heralds the style of an SUV / pick-up that will be part of the future range of vehicles based on the Group’s new modular platform which will constitute one of the bases for this offensive.
With its generous curves and chiseled details, this vision embodies Renault’s values and reflects its new design language, both emotional and technological. The grille is robust and contemporary, strongly sculpted and characterized by an exclusive 3D effect and the full Renault lettering (with a pixel art type finish) which replaces the traditional Lozenge.
The front of Niagara is also characterized by prominent skids, which stand out due to the accentuated ground clearance, long-travel suspension and wide breakover angles.
Renault Niagara immediately shows all its potential to tackle the most extreme road conditions. And it also contains the most eloquent codes of the world of pick-ups with broad shoulders that accompany the contours of the body, highlighting the robustness of the vehicle. At the rear, the sloping roof followed by the pronounced inclination of the window pillar give it dynamism and sportiness.
Even the graphics underline the versatility of the vehicle: green refers to adventure, yellow to sportiness, light gray to technicality, all on a black background that evokes power. Based on the new super-flexible platform from Groupe Renault, Niagara Concept has an efficient engine, thanks to E-Tech Hybrid 4×4 technology and a dual technical adaptation.
On the one hand, the transition to the mild hybrid advanced engine (48 V) stands out, which is traditionally placed under the front bonnet. On the other hand, Niagara Concept uses an additional electric motor in the rear to obtain all-wheel drive and guarantee the best off-road performance.
It should be noted that this advanced mild hybrid engine (48 V) allows you to complete half of your daily journeys in 100% electric mode, with a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
