The new Renault 5 E-Tech Electric, offered in 5 exterior colors including Iconic Green, Iconic Jaune, and Iconic Blue, derives from the concept and arrives in production with ideal proportions between metal surfaces and glass on the side.
The reference to the past is evident in the contrasting line that surrounds the upper part of the windows and the roof to bring to mind the spigots of the past. If the front headlights wink when you approach the car, and the charge indicator on the front bonnet plays with the graphic of the number 5, the air intake in the rear light clusters recalls that of the legendary R5 turbo. The 5 returns to play an important role in the rear view, because this is an iconic car, which stands out from the rest of the Renault production in terms of style. While the 18-inch wheels for all versions fill the wheel arches well and give the side a powerful image, as do the muscular wheel arches.
The passenger compartment has a certain family feeling with the current range thanks to the covering materials for the door panels and dashboard. The latter recalls the square design of the past, as well as the covering in front of the passenger, and sports a 7 or 10.1 inch instrumentation, while in the center we find the 10 inch screen. The seats are inspired by those of the R5 turbo for a decidedly captivating mix of past, present and future.
The Evolution variant features a gray and white interior, the Techno trim features 100% recycled denim fabric, while the one called Iconic Cinq boasts the R5 signature illuminated on the dashboard. No leather was used to create the interior of the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric, and the Techno and Iconic Cinq variants feature 100% recycled interior materials, with the floor made from 80% recycled fabrics.
Sustainability, however, does not lead to sacrifices in terms of customization, given that the gear lever can take on the appearance of a lipstick, and you can even have a baguette holder: an accessory in line with the character and personality of the company’s new electric car of the lozenge.
