Audi raises the lobster by introducing the new Audi A6, a world premiere view at Milan Design Week last week and already tried on the road by Ansa Motori in the 204 horsepower Diesel version. The car can already be ordered and the list price starts from 69,350 euros.
The sixth generation of Audi A6 Avant arrives forty -eight years after the debut of the legendary Audi 100 Avant and projects the brand in a new more innovative, technological and ecological era.
Based on the PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) thermal modium platform, Audi A6 Avant shows more sporting lines and widening dimensions than the previous generation.
The dimensions are generous: 4.99 m long (+6 cm compared to the past), 1.89 me wide 1.47 high, boasts a 2.92 step but the advantage of the space for rear passengers. The trunk has a load capacity that passes from 466 liters to 1,497 liters lowering the backrest of the sofas.
The new A6 Avant design is completely renewed and already from the first glance you perceive a mix between elegance and sportiness: the front is characterized by the large reduced single frames extended to the lower edge of the bumper (redesigned) and for the sharp projectors. Also at the rear there is a new design of the optical groups and the presence of the sports unloading. All these details have made it possible to reach maximum aerodynamic efficiency with a 0.25 CX: the best ever for a thermal avant.
Inside the passenger compartment we note a cleaning of the spaces that makes the environment elegant and functional. The “digital stage” Audi which includes the Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus dashboard of 11.9 inches, the 14.5 -inch MMI curvy display with OLED technology, both standard from the first level of set -up, is large. This is accompanied by the 10.9 -inch passenger screen, Unicum for the category.
E3 1.2 electronic architecture contributes to the advanced digitization of Audi A6 Avant, strong of five “IT platforms” which control all the functions of the vehicle and characterized by a high calculation speed. The new platform makes the interaction between artificial intelligence (chatgpt) and the vocal assistant as well as the adoption of the Android Automotive OS operating system.
The engine range includes only electrified solutions with the 48 Volt Mhev Plug-in system, where the heart of the system is the PowerTrain Generator (PTG) consisting of 24 HP electric motor and 230 Nm, a power electronic, a 1.7 kWh battery and dedicated cooling, which guarantees a higher level of electrification of the MILD-Hybrid Audi technology and which, in the phase of deceleration recovers the energy by acting as an alternator and making it possible to brak electro -hydraulic. Lower consumption and lower emissions up to 15% compared to the previous generation of engines.
For the launch, Audi A6 Avant is available with 2.0 TDI 150 kW (204 hp) Mhev+ engine also with four and 3.0 TFSI 270 kW traction (367 hp) Mhev Plus Quattro. During the year the 2.0 TFSI E-Hybrid (plug-in) are also expected with two levels of power and up to 80 kilometers of autonomy and the 3.0 TDI Mhev 48 Volt. While in 2026 A6 Allroad Quattro will arrive and in 2027 the sportiest S6 and RS6 versions.
Audi A6 Avant has a body with a high torsional rigidity and is equipped with three levels of set -up with standard suspensions, sports or adaptive tires that use the individual management of each electro -hydraulic shock absorber and allow you to vary up to 30 mm light from the car’s soil.
Furthermore, the new German model has a progressive steering, with variable serving and demolition, (standard) which makes it significantly more direct than the previous model.
At a higher level, the four -wheel drive variants can make use of the full steering: at low speed the rear axle sees the wheels steering in the counter -phase compared to the front ones so as to encourage agility in the narrow mix and handling.
For the first contact, we at Ansa Motori opted for the 204 HP Mhev Plus four -cylinder TDI version of 400 Nm of torque with four -wheel drive combined with a 7 -speed S Tronic dual clutch transmission. In the long driving path, we appreciated the comfort and silence on board, as well as the pleasure and the driving feeling given by the precise and direct steering and the rather hard and perfect brake pedal for a good modulation of the braking.
