X Gran Equator, an evolving evolution of the off -road vehicle

At the Genesis stand at the New York International Auto Show, only the last two concepts presented at the recent Seoul Mobility Show (X Gran Coupe and X Grand Convertible) were expected but with a real coup de Théâtre the premium brand of the Hyundai group has amazed professionals and enthusiasts revealing X Gran Equator Concept.

It is an unprecedented Luxury Crossover for off -road vehicles, the one that the company correctly calls “an audacious exploration of elegance and adventure intended for those who are looking for the tranquility of nature without giving up the thrill of the unknown”.
The name of this 100% electric prototype – which for the moment does not seem to have a productive following – is not inspired how it might seem to be at the geographical term but to Equator, recognized as the best stallion in the world of Arab horses (it was born in 2010) true icon of resistance, agility and refined power.
These characteristics – Genesis reiterates – faithfully reflect the spirit of the concept: an elegant car, but at the same time capable, designed to offer performance in extreme conditions while maintaining a natural sense of elegance.
Just in the same way that the Arabic horse is known for its balance of beauty and strength, this concept represents the unique approach of Genesis to performance.
“X Gran Equator Concept is an exercise in harmonization of the contrasts: it combines elegance and solidity, but also the spirit of exploration to the refined comfort – commented Luc Donckerwolke, creative director of Genesis – and represents the predisposition of true off -road competence and luxury without compromise with a design to allow the discovery of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world”, out of the identity. Stylistic of the latest Genesis, X Gran Equator Concept shows – in a celebration of minimalism – even clearer lines and ordered surfaces. The long hood, the slender interior and the protes of protruding C. generate a profile that “challenges the conventions of traditional SUVs”, while the increased passaruot arches and the 24-inch beadlock wheels underline the predisposition for the most demanding off-road.
The surprising aspect of X Gran Equator is also emphasized by the auxiliary geometric lights and by the Mancurrent ‘High Tech’ on the roof, details that combine the practicality and refinement with the unmistakable double -line double lighthouses.
The passenger compartment is no different: X Gran Equator Concept combines analog architecture and digital technologies giving life to a practical and evocative space. An example are the central four -circle display inspired by the quadrants of vintage cameras. Or even the four single seats with holds and other features that recall to the world of 4×4 military.
The linear and minimalist architecture of the dashboard draws the driver’s attention on the journey and the operation of the vehicle, while the swivel front seats and the modular solutions for storage increase the practicality of X Gran Equator.
