Ferrari Amalfi, unveiled the Berlinetta with 640 HP V8

Amalfi is reality. After months of waiting and a total name that seemed uncertain until the end, the house of the rampant horse presents the 2+ sedantetta baptized as the town of the coast and is the car that takes the inheritance left of Rome with the aim of welcoming new customers in the Ferrari house. The arrival on the market is scheduled for the first months of next year at a list price that starts from 240,000 euros.

“We decided to call it the flag of a renewed sportiness – said Enrico Galliera, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer – because this is a car (already Ferrari Roma, this even more) with two souls, perhaps the Ferrari car with these two most highlighted souls”.
Ferrari Amalfi, in fact, is a car created to embody the typical elegance of the rampant horse models with something more. The style, born from the team led by Flavio Manzoni, becomes more essential, abandoning some elements that characterized Roma, such as the front grill.

In addition, a Ferrari is also sportiness and Amalfi does not disappoint. It is not extreme, but with its V8 Biturbo it is able to entertain even the less experienced pilots in complete safety. The heart of the new birth is the engine: an update of the well-known Ferrari V8 (considering the best choice in-house for turbocharged cars with front-central motor as Amalfi) now equipped with 20 HP more than Roma and manages to have a better elasticity thanks to a reinterpretation of what are the cams axes as well as a control unit developed together with the Bosch for motor control, the one we put on the 296 GTB and On the Ferrari 12cilinders, therefore a control unit that allows us to be much more careful in the control of a single engine activity.

Although it is not extreme, it is a sporty lady: the 0-100 km/h covers it in 3.3 seconds and reaches a maximum power of 640 HP and 760 Nm of torque. For an optimal disbursement, the Maranello technicians opted for the combination with a double -speed double clutch gearbox, reviewing some software calibrations of the change which, thanks to the most performance engine, had to be adequate giving greater sportiness between the first and 7th gear and instead keeping the eighth gear as the march that allows us to have less consumption and less emissions in the highway context.
In addition to power, another characterizing factor of Amalfi is aerodynamics, designed for both the front and the rear to always obtain the right downforce. In addition, at the rear a new active wing was introduced with two positions (intermediate and maximum), capable of generating a load of 110 kg at 250 km/h. In addition, always as regards the technical part, Amalfi adopts, for the first time on this car’s archetype, the Brake-by-Wire braking system with ABS EVO, a system that allows you to reduce the braking distance of 200 to 0 by about ten and a half meters and make the braking repeatable both in wet conditions and dry.

Amalfi’s style resumes that of Rome, maintaining a low, elegant, slender and contemporary belt line.
“There is a particular relationship between full and empty that characterizes not only the exteriors of the car but also the interiors – said Flavio Manzoni, Chief Design Officer – because it is essential to understand how these two worlds must be talked about and must obviously be addressed in a very coherent way”.
Compared to Rome, “we wanted to give a more avantgard line, more modern, more contemporary at the same time – continued Manzoni – characterized by some rather incisive lines which are however the result of a wise intersection between the volumes and at the same time a very slender line”.

The rear seems to have a style of its own compared to the rest of the car, where tin deflector a carbon stands out in a marked way, almost like in the most pushed cars of the range.
In the interiors they resume the new 12.25 -inch touchscreen with feedback feedback with horizontal development. In addition, the physical keys on the steering wheel are back, a highly appreciated element for the on -board safety and an interaction with the most natural car.
A touch of elegance (and sustainability) is introduced in the central tunnel which sees the introduction of anodized aluminum, among other things recycled in compliance with the needs of sustainability.
Finally, to celebrate the new birth of the Ferrari house, the designers worked to present an ad hoc color for the model, the coastal green, homage to the elegance and the unique beauty of Amalfi and a touch of freshness for the car.
