War and social payments: how to get money for Ukrainians from “hot” regions

During the war, access to certain services became more difficult. The authorities are forced to develop new conditions, simplify some rules in order to make it easier for Ukrainians to access the usual and necessary services.

Segodnya will tell you how people living in regions where active hostilities are taking place can receive social benefits.

Special mechanism for certain regions

The Ministry of Social Policy said that in March, most Ukrainians received cash benefits, benefits and subsidies. Complications have arisen only where hostilities are taking place and social security agencies cannot work.

Therefore, in order for people in these regions to be able to receive their funds, the Ministry of Social Policy launched a special mechanism. It covers the following areas:

• Donetsk region: Volnovakha, Mariupol districts and the city of Mariupol;
• Zaporozhye region: Vasilyevsky, Pohovsky and Berdyansk districts;
• Lugansk region: all cities;
• Kherson region (Genichesk and Kherson within the former Oleshkivsky district, the cities of Novaya Kakhovka and Holaya Pristan);
• Sumy region: Akhtyrsky district within the former Trostyanetsky district;
• Kharkiv region: Izyumsky, Kharkiv district of the city of Izyum, Kupyansk, Merefa and most districts of the city of Kharkov;
• Chernihiv region: part of Novgorod-Seversky and Desnyansky district in the city of Chernihiv.
• Kyiv region: Vyshgorodsky district within the former Ivankovsky district.

Therefore, the essence of the mechanism is that the funds are transferred to Oschadbank, and then the bank transfers these funds to people. It happens like this:

• those citizens who received payments through banks, Oschadbank JSC will transfer funds to their bank accounts;
• For those citizens who received payments through Ukrposhta, Oschadbank JSC will make a money transfer through the international payment system MY TRANSFER.

Therefore, those people who received funds on bank cards, nothing additional needs to be done.

How to receive money through Ukrposhta

People from these regions, in order to receive money through the mail, must apply with a passport and a certificate with the RNOKPP number (individual tax number) to any branch of Oschadbank. This must be done within 60 days.

Earlier we wrote that in Ukrposhta for people from safer regions who did not leave their permanent place of residence, the procedure for receiving social benefits has not changed. The postmen will bring the money home, or the money can be picked up at the branch.

How to apply for pensions during the war

In order to apply for a pension, citizens can contact any service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU), regardless of the region, if they have all the necessary documents for assigning a pension.

The following documents are required to apply for a pension:

• passport and identification code;
• documents on insurance experience: in particular, a work book, a full-time diploma, a military ID;
• salary certificate for 60 consecutive months up to June 30, 2000 (optional);
• bank account details when choosing a payment method through a bank.
