Ukrainians, temporarily forced to leave the country due to hostilities, most often choose Poland. The local authorities are already making steps towards the Ukrainians, adopting resolutions on benefits and simplified procedures in various areas. The Poles also help to arrange life on the spot.

“Today” figured out which Polish cities offer Ukrainians free parking. And also, what services for renting transport exist and how much does it cost.

Free parking

Due to the large influx of Ukrainians, the administrations of several Polish cities were allowed to free parking for citizens of Ukraine

One such city is Krakow. According to a local publication, the mayor of Krakow signed a decree allowing Ukrainian citizens to receive a temporary free subscription to parking cars in places where you have to pay for it.

The condition for obtaining such a benefit is the presentation of one of the following documents:

  • a document confirming the crossing of the border between Ukraine and Poland since February 24;
  • the original of the residence permit at a specific address issued by the voivode of Małopolska;
  • certificate of temporary residence registration from February 24;
  • Ukrainian vehicle registration certificate.

Such a subscriptionvalid for a month, it can also be extended.

Similar conditions were created for Ukrainians in Poznan. There you can also park your car for free in paid parking lots of the city. To do this, you need to get a special certificate, which is issued after presenting the same documents that are required in Krakow.

A free parking permit is also available for 30 days.

Joined the benefits for Ukrainians and Lublin. They adopted an “assistance package” for refugees, which includes exemption from fees, including for public transport and parking spaces.

The basis for free travel in public transport or the use of a parking space is documents confirming the citizenship of Ukraine.

Other cities have not yet introduced such simplifications.

Regarding the prices for parking spaces, the situation is approximately as follows. In Wroclaw on March 15, new paid parking spaces appeared. To leave a car there, you need to pay the following rates:

  • PLN 3 (UAH 20.66) per hour of parking;
  • PLN 3.10 (UAH 21.35) for 2 hours of parking;
  • PLN 3.30 (UAH 22.73) for the third hour of parking;
  • PLN 3.00 for the 4th and each subsequent hour of parking.
