(ANSA) – ROME, MARCH 23 – The pensions in force as of January 1, 2022, excluding those of public employees, are 17,749,278, 77.6% of which are of a social security nature (22.4% of a welfare nature). It can be read in the INPS Pensions Observatory according to which the total annual amount is equal to 218.6 billion euros, of which 195.4 billion supported by pension funds and 23.2 billion by welfare funds.
Overall, the benefits of less than a thousand euros are two thirds of the total but – explains INPS – pensioners have even more benefits so the retiree’s income does not coincide with the single service.
In 2021, 1,315,171 pensions were paid, 44.2% of which were of a welfare nature. The annualized amounts allocated for the new liquidated in 2021 amount to € 14.1 billion, which represent approximately 6.5% of the total annual amount in payment as of January 1, 2022. (ANSA).
