(ANSA) – MILAN, MARCH 29 – In 2021, exports at current prices of the Italian agri-food districts close with a positive balance, exceeding the figure of 22 billion euros and realizing an increase of 9.2% compared to the previous year .
This is what emerges from the monitor of the Italian agri-food districts edited by the studies and research department of Intesa Sanpaolo. The growth trend has continued uninterrupted since 2010 and has not stopped even during the pandemic. The dynamics are in line with the evolution of Italian food and drink exports, which in 2021 exceeded the 50 billion euro milestone. The result is also affected by an increase in producer prices. The most affected sector is that of oil (+ 10.3%), followed at a distance by dairy (+ 3.3%); all the other sectors recorded small increases that were lower than the sector average, with drinks instead experiencing a slight decline.
Exports from the agri-food districts to all the main destination markets are growing, in particular Germany (+ 4.5%), the United States (+ 13.9%) and France (+ 10%); sales on the British market decreased (-9.6%). Exposure to the Russian and Ukrainian market remains low, overall only 1.6% for 366 million.
In the current context, with “the aim of supporting companies in their liquidity needs for payments and guaranteeing their production continuity, Intesa Sanpaolo intervenes with loans intended to cover the cost of past and future bills”, says Massimiliano Cattozzi, Head of Agribusiness Department Intesa Sanpaolo.
