Lviv, Odessa, Vinnitsa and Ivano-Frankivsk – how much does it cost to rent a bike

Due to the shortage of fuel in Ukraine, the search for alternatives has become relevant. Fortunately, there are quite a few services that offer a “green” replacement for gasoline or diesel cars.

The editors of “Today” talked with the CEO of the company “Nextbike Ukraine” Roman Savyak and found out in which cities, despite the war, you can rent a bike for trips.

Service is currently available in Odessa, Vinnitsa and Lvov. We plan to resume the service in the near future. in Ivano-Frankivsk. They will not expand the business to other cities yet – they explain this by the fact that many have left.

“People use the services, but we don’t see much activity in cities like Odessa. Perhaps because many citizens have left, but there are no tourists who used our service more often than Odessans,” said Roman Savyak.

At the same time, in Kyiv, you can rent transport from the Ukrainian company BikeNow. Customers have about 1,200 bicycles and 150 scooters at their disposal. Per-minute billing: 5 UAH for unlocking and then every minute counts in 1 UAH.

Offer and rates

In general, you can rent several hundred Nextbike bicycles in Ukraine. There are 180 vehicles in Vinnitsa, 140 in Lviv, and about 100 in Odessa.

Over the past three years, the company has not changed tariffs and does not plan to do so now. The peculiarity of the service is that trips are charged – an hour trip costs 30 UAH. To place an order, you need to download the company’s application, replenish the balance and pay for the service.

Affordable to buy monthly subscription for 250 UAH. It allows you to drive daily for hours for free. It can be four trips lasting 15 minutes. or two 30 min.

“In addition, two trips lasting up to an hour of time cost UAH 5 are provided, then every next hour is charged UAH 50,” added Roman Savyak.

Profitable alternative

Earlier, the editors of Segodnya talked with the director of Veliki.ua, Oleksiy Kushka, and the head of Bolt’s sharing services development in Ukraine, Anton Milka, about where and for how much you can rent electric scooters.

Electric scooter rental is available in Kyiv. Veliki.ua customers can do this in two places, but they will have to be returned to the same point where they picked them up. Prices start from UAH 150, and a full charge can last for 10-40 km, depending on the type of transport.

Bolt has resumed the electric scooter rental service in Kyiv and Lviv. Compared to 2021, the cost of the trip has decreased by 35% – unlocking costs UAH 5, the trip is charged at UAH 1.5 per minute. Such rates are more beneficial for the user than a car trip, which in an era of fuel shortages will cost almost twice as much.

In early May, prices for gasoline, diesel and autogas jumped sharply in the networks of Ukrainian filling stations. While there is a shortage in the country, scammers have become more active – Ukrainians are being sold expired fuel coupons and diluted “shmurdyak” instead of normal gasoline.
