Ukrainians will be paid international assistance – who will be able to receive it

We tell you what international payments Ukrainian immigrants can count on

Internally displaced persons, in addition to state assistance, can receive international targeted financial support, implemented jointly with the government of Ukraine. You can use only one program.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Reintegration.

Let’s talk more about each of them.

ICRC

The mission of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine, together with the Red Cross Society of Ukraine, has launched a program of financial support for the affected population.

The financial aid is 2 500 UAH per person. A person does not have to apply with separate applications – payments will be accrued along with state assistance.

Priority is given to persons displaced from communities affected by the fighting.

Program from UNICEF “Jointly”

The program from UNICEF “Jointly” provides that families (regardless of whether they are registered as IDPs) can receive financial support in the amount of 2200 UAH per person (but not more than 5 people in a family) if they:

  • have three or more children under the age of 18, of which at least one child is under two years of age:
  • have two or more children under the age of 18, of which at least one child is with a disability.

Foster/caregiver parents may also apply for assistance.

To receive funds, you must register at register.unicef.org. The final decision will be communicated via SMS. If the decision is positive, the payment will be received within 4 weeks from the date of application.

United Nations Refugee Agencies

UN Refugee Agency provides three months of cash assistance in the amount of 2200 UAH for persons who have moved to the territory Vinnitsa, Dnipropetrovsk, Transcarpathian, Lviv, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky, Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk regions and registered as IDPs.

Payments are made through the branch of “Ukrposhta”.

United Nations World Food Program

The UN World Food Program provides cash assistance for displaced persons temporarily residing in Rivne and Vinnitsa regions.

The amount of assistance is 2220 UAH per person, and the maximum amount of assistance per family is 6600 UAH (in the amount of 3 people in the household).

Financial assistance is automatically credited to all citizens:

  • registered as an IDP,
  • who have applied for an IDP residence allowance.

There is no need to personally apply to the executive body for assistance from the UN. Payments are made through any bank that supports the Western Union payment system.

International Organization for Migration (IOM)

The International Organization for Migration (MOM) has launched a multi-purpose cash assistance program, which consists in providing internally displaced persons with a cash payment in the amount of UAH 2,200 per person. The project is currently being implemented on Transcarpathia and Vinnitsa region. Subsequently, they plan to expand also to Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions.

In order to receive assistance, a person must register as an IDP with the social protection authorities of the population of the territorial society or the TsNAP.

Priority is given to: pregnant women, single parents raising children, families with two or more children, households. where there are people with disabilities, the elderly (65+ years).

Funds can be received at the Ukrposhta branch, they must arrive there within two weeks after filling in the data.

Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is implementing a multipurpose cash assistance project for IDPs.

Registration is made only with the help of a chatbot in WhatsApp. For this you need:

  • download WhatsApp messenger on your smartphone;
  • add the number 0 800 609 844 to your contacts;
  • send a notification to it with the text NRC.

800 thousand UAH for Ukrainians

Some Ukrainians may be paid from 200,000 to 800,000 hryvnias for having suffered from hostilities in the performance of their duties.

Compensation applies to those who public service, professional journalism, or work in critical infrastructure.

The corresponding draft law No. 7353 has already been registered in the Rada.

If a Ukrainian who fulfills one of the above obligations, get a disability he is entitled to:

  • UAH 800 thousand for the first group of disability;
  • 500 thousand UAH for the second group of disability;
  • UAH 200 thousand in case of the third disability group.

In the event of the death of an employee, the amount of payment to relatives, if the bill is approved, will be UAH 1 million. Payments will be made at the expense of the budget and receipts from the governments of foreign countries, international organizations, donors.
