In March 2022, the seasonally adjusted index of construction production increases by 2.0% compared to February 2022 and 19.4% compared to March 2021. Istat notes this, underlining that on the average of the first quarter of 2022, net of seasonality, production in construction increased by 7% in comparison with the previous quarter. In March, the seasonally adjusted index of construction production rose for the eighth consecutive month, recording the highest level since May 2011.
On a trend basis, adds Istat, the index of construction production corrected for calendar effects grows by 19.4% (there were 23 calendar working days, as in March 2021), while the raw index records a growth of 20.5%. On average for the first quarter of 2022, the index adjusted for calendar effects increases by 19.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, while the raw index grew by 20.9%.
