(ANSA) – DAVOS, 25 MAY – In Davos the climate is “of a situation of great uncertainty” for the world economy, and this for Europe “means a slowdown in growth, but not necessarily a destiny of recession”. This was stated by the EU Commissioner for Economic Affairs Paolo Gentiloni on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.
“We can and must work using all the tools we have to prevent the slowdown from translating into recession”; starting from the recovery where the Italian government “is working with great determination” and with “temporary and targeted measures to help the most vulnerable families” such as the taxation of extra energy profits. Gentiloni then reiterated again that “there is no Europe’s request to raise house taxes, of any kind, anywhere in the hundreds and hundreds of pages of recommendations we make. ” (HANDLE).
