Some pensioners will receive large payments: who will be recalculated

Pensioners who continued to work after the appointment of a pension are entitled to automatic recalculation of payments. However, it will take place later than usual due to martial law.

How fast is the recalculation

New amounts of payments for working pensioners are appointed every two years. To do this, a person must either apply to the fund, or the recalculation will take place automatically.

“The right to automatic recalculation determines the length of service acquired, including through February of the current year”– explain in the PFC.

However, due to the war, policyholders submitted reports for the first quarter of 2022 to the State Register of Compulsory State Social Insurance later than usual, until May 10. That is why and recalculation takes place one month later.

Consequently, the payment of the listed pensions will be made starting from June, and with an additional payment for April and May.

“The recalculation is made taking into account only the length of service acquired after the appointment (preliminary recalculation) of the pension, or, if appropriate, taking into account the length of service and wages acquired after the appointment (preliminary recalculation) of the pension”, – noted in the Pension Fund.

According to statistics, as of April 1, there are 2.7 million working pensioners in Ukraine. On average they get payments in the amount of UAH 4532.91. At the same time, the average pension of all pensioners is UAH 4370.45

What to do if there is not enough insurance experience

Previously, “Today” explained that in order for a person to start paying a pension, you need to have full months of insurance experience. However, it happens that it is not enough. But this does not mean that there will be no payments. For incomplete months of experience, you can pay extra.

There is an insurance premium for crediting the insurance experience. It is paid monthly and the amount for each may be different, but not less than the minimum amountwhich is specially calculated.

However, if the amount of the insurance premium paid was less than the minimum, the length of service decreased accordingly, and it may not be enough to calculate the pension.

From April 30, 2022, the amount of the supplement for previous years is calculated from the current level of the minimum wage and the insurance premium.

In particular, the minimum insurance contribution today is UAH 1,430 (minimum wage UAH 6,500 multiplied by 22%).
