(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 31 – Facilitations of approximately € 37.5 million have been granted by the Ministry of Economic Development to Midac to carry out research, development and innovation in batteries at the Soave (Verona) site. These activities are foreseen by the second important project of common European interest in the battery sector (Ipcei Batterie 2) which sees the participation of 12 Member States.
The objective of the intervention promoted by Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti, within the Ipcei Fund set up at the Mise, is to strengthen the competitiveness of a company in the national industry in order to favor its autonomy. “This funding goes in the direction of pursuing the achievement of national and European strategic autonomy in a sector such as that of batteries, central to the ecological transition and in which Mise continues to invest, not with the Ipcei, but also with the contracts of development, where a branch dedicated to the sector has been opened with an endowment of 500 million euros “, declares Giorgetti. The Midac project, launched on January 1, 2022, will end on May 31, 2029. (ANSA).
