During martial law, the National Bank introduces changes related to different areas. Since June, new conditions for compulsory insurance of civil liability of owners of land vehicles have been in force.

About what exactly has changed, the press service of the NBU reported.

Updated four conditions

The NBU introduced several changes, and some of them relate to financial protection.

The first change is that the sums insured have increased. In particular, the new payments will be as follows:

  • before 160 000 UAH per victim for damages, caused to the property of the victims (previously it was UAH 130,000);
  • before 320 000 UAH per victim for damages, caused to the life and health of the victims (previously it was UAH 260,000).

“Increasing the sums insured under ‘car insurance’ agreements will allow consumers to receive better financial protection, while at the same time the cost of the policy will not increase significantly for them,” – the message says.

The second change is the increase in the size of the insurance payment under the “Europrotocol”. If earlier it was supposed to be UAH 50,000 for the victim, now this amount will reach 80 000 UAH This means that more victims of road accidents will be able to receive insurance payments without calling the National Police.

The third change is that the range of values of the adjustment coefficient to the base insurance payment has been expanded.

“Such a coefficient helps to assess the level of unprofitability of the insurer’s activities. Expanding its range will allow insurers to minimize risks and form an adequate tariff policy for consumers of insurance services”, – explained in the NBU.

The fourth change is that the single centralized database will now include information on concluded electronic agreements “Green Card”.

This means that the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) will have more data. And this, in turn, will allow people to receive information on all types of concluded insurance contracts, and will allow protect yourself from possible fraudulent activitiesassociated with the manipulation of incomplete data.
