(ANSA) – TRENTO, 04 JUN – “I don’t think the minimum wage is a problem for Confindustria because Confindustria’s contracts are well above, at least as regards contractual minimums, compared to the thresholds that are commonly indicated for wages minimum in Italy “. This was stated by the vice president of Confindustria, Maurizio Stirpe, on the sidelines of an initiative on the labor market as part of the Trento Festival of Economics organized by the Autonomous Province and the 24 Hours Group.
“We would have nothing against – he added – under three conditions: that the minimum wage is set as a percentage between 40 and 60% of the median wage; the second condition is that the minimum wage is not confused with what is proportional and sufficient remuneration of article 36 of the Constitution, are two completely different things: the minimum wage is one thing, the fair wage is another. The third condition is that the minimum wage must operate for all contracts, at 360 degrees, therefore not only for the areas where there is no collective bargaining but also for the areas where there is. Otherwise it would expose itself to wage dumping operations “. (HANDLE).
