(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 08 – “The Assolavoro initiative allows refugees to be channeled into the world of work through training and support from employment agencies”. This was declared by the UNHCR Representative for Italy, the Holy See and San Marino, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Chiara Cardoletti, at the Assolavoro assembly “Change the world, change work. The new challenges between inclusion and innovation “.
“Even today – adds Cardoletti – there are very few people who have access to this work tool. This initiative will give refugees ample breathing space”.
An Assolavoro agreement with trade unions allocates 45 million euros to holders of international protection, temporary protection and special protection. The measures envisaged range from forms of economic support (also to those who welcome them) to skills assessment services, training in Italian and vocational training and job placement.
Furthermore, thanks to the collaboration with Unhcr, anyone will be able to access a guide via the web with the measures, the recipients, the methods for accessing the services and the direct contacts of the individual agencies. (HANDLE).
