(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 10 – In the first quarter of 2022, Istat estimates strong economic growth in exports for all territorial divisions: + 9.3% for the South and Islands, + 9.1% for the Center, + 9.0% for the North-west and + 8.1% for the North-east. Even compared to the first quarter of 2021, growth is “very sustained and accelerating” (+ 22.9%) and widespread at the territorial level: the increase in exports is very marked for the Islands (+ 58.4%), around the national average for the North-East (+ 24.2%) and the North-West (+ 23.1%), more contained for the Center (+ 17.0%) and the South (+ 14.3%).
In the first three months of 2022, almost all Italian regions recorded increases in exports: the most marked for Sicily (+ 71.9%), for sales of refined petroleum products, Calabria (+ 56.6%) and Friuli -Venezia Giulia (+ 51.3%), the lowest for Abruzzo (+ 0.4%). The exceptions are Molise (-23.5%) and Basilicata (-13.5%), which suffer from the decline in vehicle exports “- The positive performance of Lombardy (+ 23.6%) alone contributes 6.2 points percentages to the growth of national exports on an annual basis.
