Although martial law continues in Ukraine, traffic rules must be respected regardless of the time of day. In many Ukrainian cities, the panic of the first days of the war has already passed, the majority of residents are beginning to return to their native cities. Motorists are also returning, and with them there is more and more violation of traffic rules.

The editors of “Segodnya” decided to write about the most frequent violations of Ukrainians while driving and about what fines drivers face for this.

Using a mobile phone while driving

Apparently, Ukrainian drivers are not afraid of a fine of 510 UAH for talking on a mobile phone while driving, so there are quite a lot of violators.

And the point here, probably, is precisely in the very low amount of the fine. And although security cameras have appeared on Ukrainian roads, a large number of our fellow citizens are still not afraid of administrative responsibility.

Not keeping distance while driving

Probably, many of us noticed how during the trip some very nimble drivers drove very close to the back of your car, hoping that you would notice it and give way? We are sure that most drivers will answer this question in the affirmative.

And there are, probably, those who do not know that for such traffic violations you can run into a fine of 850 UAH. After all, non-observance of the distance on the road can lead to serious accidents even in summer and dry weather.

Driving on the median

This is considered a gross violation of the rules, although many drivers neglect it, trying to enter the public transport lane to avoid traffic jams.

Although recently, patrol policemen and even social activists have been actively fighting such impudent drivers. True, it does not become less violations from this. Penalties do not help much either: if a driver enters a public transport lane, he will be punished in accordance with Part 3 of Article 122 of the Code of Administrative Offenses in the amount of UAH 680.

There are also individual cases when a driver receives a fine under Part 1 of Article 122 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which threatens him with a fine of only UAH 340.

Cars parked incorrectly

There are motorists who park in such a way that they occupy two parking spaces at once. Perhaps this encourages other drivers to also park their car incorrectly, especially if there are already not enough spaces in the parking lot.

A special case is when drivers leave their cars on the side of the road or even in places prohibited for parking. Such cars are often taken away by tow trucks, which leads to high-profile scandals between drivers and city services. By the way, the size of the fine for parking in the wrong place ranges from 255 to 1.7 thousand UAH.

Throwing trash out of the car

Alas, in Ukraine they are not yet fined for the fact that the driver or his passengers throw garbage out of the windows of the car during the trip. Although in Europe such responsibility exists.

Of course, the absence of fines for this does not mean at all that it is necessary to throw various garbage or cigarette butts accumulated in the car out of the window anywhere. After all, such actions can provoke a conflict with another driver or an accident.
