Is the currency market in turmoil again? What happens to the dollar in PrivatBank, PUMB and Oschadbank

Ukrainian banks have updated the dollar. On Friday, July 1, the average selling rate of the American currency in financial institutions is UAH 35.3/USD.

So, according to the specialized website of the Ministry of Finance, the situation looks like this:

• PrivatBank – UAH 35.3/35.7;
• Oschadbank – UAH 35.3/35.7;
• FUIB – UAH 35.2/35.7;
• Ukreximbank – UAH 35.3/35.8;
• Raiffeisen Bank – UAH 35.4/36.0;
• Ukrgasbank – UAH 34.9/35.7;
• Alfa-Bank – 35.0/35.5 UAH/USD;
• OTP Bank – 33.0/35.25 UAH/USD;
• Ukrsibbank – 29.26/29.55 UAH/USD;
• Universal Bank – 34.4/35.7 UAH/USD

Meanwhile, speculators have no sharp jumps in the exchange rate of the US currency so far.

Judging by the updated data for Friday, July 1, the average dollar selling rate is UAH 35.55, and buying – UAH 35.45.

NBU will release the rate?

If restrictions on the import of goods are lifted, then the official dollar exchange rate will also have to be released, but in this case, no one knows where it will stop.

This opinion was voiced by financial market analyst Ivan Uglyanitsa in a comment to UBR.ua.

According to him, the process is being held back precisely because of this uncertainty. The fact is that imports and exports in the country are radically divided. Importers, in fact, buy currency from the National Bank, which is much cheaper than the market one.

And exports have to suffer by selling the currency at the lowest possible rate.
