(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 10 – Car journeys become prohibitive with current fuel prices, despite the government’s ‘discounts’ on excise duties and VAT. Maybe a last minute plane or train is better, net of the transport chaos of these days.
To give an example, according to a survey by Codacons, the full-price record belongs to the route (the longest taken into consideration) Bolzano-Trapani: to travel by car (total distance 1,646 km) you have to spend one way and back almost 400 euros for petrol supplies, +83.5 euros on 2021 (332.8 euros for diesel, almost +87 euros compared to the summer of 2021). But also to go from Turin to Reggio Calabria with a petrol car and cover the 1,362 km that separate the two cities, an average of 330.8 euros must be taken into account this year, between an increase in expenditure of about 69 euros compared to the summer of 2021. If the car runs on diesel, about 275.4 euros are spent, but the increase on an annual basis is higher (+71.9 euros), despite with one liter of this fuel travels on average more kilometers than petrol.
