Kubrakov said that the “grain initiative” was extended for 120 days: only 60 days were announced in Russia

Infrastructure Minister Alexander Kubrakov announced that the “grain agreement” was extended for 120 days. At the same time, earlier the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that they had extended the agreement for only 60 days, although the text of the document refers to a period twice as long.

As Kubrakov wrote on his Facebook page, the document was extended for four months. The minister thanked UN Secretary General Antonio Guteris and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This means that Ukraine continues to export its agricultural products through three deep sea ports.

“In particular, from August 1 to this day, we have sent 25 million tons for the needs of the world. At the same time, the main challenge is to speed up inspections in Turkey. This will allow the world to get even more Ukrainian agricultural products,” the publication says.

Also, according to Kubrakov, work continues on joining the “Grain Initiative” of the ports of Mykolaiv region and expanding the range of goods. “Ukraine has been and remains firmly embedded in the world economy and markets,” he explained.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko announced the extension of the agreements for 60 days. “The agreement has been extended, it has been agreed that it has been extended for 60 days. Its package nature has been reaffirmed,” he said. At the same time, Grushko stressed that within the framework of the agreement, the Russian Federation intends to seek the lifting of sanctions against its agricultural products.

As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, Russia continues to systematically slow down the inspection of ships following the grain corridor. Ships have to wait for their turn for weeks, as a result of which the grain does not reach the buyers on time. And this poses a risk to global food security, because the total export of grain from Ukraine is declining.
