Rental prices in Ukraine may rise as early as April: how will the cost change

In Ukraine, rental prices may rise as early as April. In Kyiv, the cost may increase by 10%.

The fact is that with the onset of spring, the rental market has intensified, the president of the Association of Real Estate Specialists (realtors) of Ukraine told GLOBAL HAPPENINGS. In the future, it will rise in large cities, especially in those where people return, such as Kharkiv and Zaporozhye.

“Since the New Year, the rental market has become stable, in the sense that there is no change in growth upwards or vice versa. Compared to winter, rentals are usually more active at this time, so it is possible that prices may rise slightly starting from April,” Pita said.

At the same time, the increase in prices will not be large – about 10%. In the western regions, the situation on the market is not the same as it was before. Now demand decreased in popular areas such as Transcarpathia, Chernivtsi region, Ivano-Frankivsk. The price has decreased by 20%, although it is still higher than it was before the war.

In the central regions, demand has already grown by 20%. While the situation is stable, and prices are declining.

“In Odessa, prices have increased slightly – by 10-15%, but demand for luxury real estate is recovering somewhat, so prices have fallen significantly – 30-40%. Interestingly, rental prices increased in Kharkiv and Zaporozhye. In Kharkiv, they grew by 20%, in Zaporozhye – by 10-15%,” the expert noted.

As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS previously reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law on compensation for destroyed and damaged housing as a result of hostilities. Citizens will be able to receive the first compensation in May.
