The situation with electricity in Ukraine will change: Ukrenergo announced the forecast

In Ukraine, there is a decrease in energy consumption. Consumption will decrease in the coming weeks. This is due to the end of the heating season.

This was stated by the head of the board of NPC Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytsky, Interfax reports. “The end of the autumn-winter season and the heating period will lead to a further reduction in energy consumption, and it will be easier for the energy system to cover it with the resources of power plants that we now have,” he summed up.

As Kudritsky explained, the decrease in electricity consumption will be facilitated, first of all, by the seasonal factor. “Heating systems usually operate on natural gas, but the corresponding pumps and other equipment installed in combined heat and power plants and boiler houses also consume electricity. Therefore, a decrease in heat production will automatically lead to a decrease in electricity production. Therefore, it will be even easier for the energy system,” – noted the head of the NEC.

At the same time, he also praised the energy saving programs implemented at the government level, for example, the organized replacement of incandescent lamps by the population with energy-saving LED lamps.

“Such energy saving measures also give and will give their effect. Therefore, we all became a little more energy efficient this winter and learned how to save,” Kudritsky stated.

According to him, as a result of Russian large-scale missile attacks against the Ukrainian energy system, the situation with the energy balance, which Ukraine has been holding for several weeks, is still unstable.

“Therefore, we will work on the restoration of generating capacities. In the summer, we plan to work so that the power units that will go into repair are replaced by those that have gone out of restoration. Or we will additionally use the inclusion of power units of other power plants,” the head of Ukrenergo said.

As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS wrote earlier, Ukrainians pay for gas at different rates. Most use the services of Naftogaz, but there are also several commercial suppliers of blue fuel.
