Industry: pact for zero Co2 by 2050 between energy-intensive sectors

(ANSA) – MILAN, 03 NOV – The most energy-intensive companies have signed the Decarbonisation Pact to eliminate CO2 emissions by 2050. Interconnector Energy Italia presented it to the Government, a reality that coordinates 7 representative confindustrial associations of the most energy-intensive sectors. These are Assocarta, Assofond, Assovetro, Confindustria Ceramica, Federacciai, Federbeton and Federchimica.

According to data from Boston Consulting, Italian industry contributes to 20% of national CO2 emissions. The Agreement was presented at the Loyola auditorium in Roma Eventi in the presence of ministers Giancarlo Giorgetti, Roberto Cingolani and Stefano Patuanelli, the president of Confindustria Carlo Bonomi, the CEO of Eni, Claudio Descalzi, the CEO of Snam, Marco Alverà and the presidents of the trade associations Assocarta, Assofond, Assovetro, Confindustria Ceramica, Federacciai, Federbeton and Federchimica.
