Ukrenergo received more than UAH 2 billion to pay debts to Harpok

The Ukrugol state enterprise has already returned UAH 2.2 billion of financial assistance to the accounts of the Ukrenergo company, which in 2022 was obliged by the Government to provide UAH 2.5 billion to the state enterprise for the purchase of coal.

This is stated in the message of the inter-factional association “Clean Energy – a Healthy Environment” regarding the response of NEC “Ukrenergo” to a deputy’s request.

According to the terms of the loan agreement, SE Ukrugol was supposed to return the interest-free financial assistance by June 01, 2023. NPC Ukrenergo notes that, according to the Agreement between Ukrenergo and Ukrugl, as of May 29, 2023, the amount of returned interest-free financial assistance is UAH 2.2 billion,” the inter-factional association reported.

The letter also notes that the returned funds are spent on repaying the debt to Guaranteed Buyer SE for services to ensure an increase in the share of electricity generation from alternative sources provided by the company until December 31, 2022 inclusive, incl. to universal service providers, taking into account the requirements of the NEURC resolution regarding the repayment of debts to universal service providers for 2022.

As reported, according to Harpok, the underpayment to green electricity producers in Ukraine for 2022 is almost 50%, since the beginning of this year – 40%.
