In total, almost 130 thousand tons of American coal have already arrived in Ukraine by two ships

DTEK Energo delivered to Ukraine the second of seven contracted vessels with Panamax-type coal from America. The total volume of the second supply is 66 thousand tons of coal.
This was reported by the press service of DTEK Energy.
The company noted that the ship arrived in Ukraine despite “extremely difficult conditions with the availability and record prices of energy carriers in the world markets”.
“In the coming days, it will replenish the stocks of our thermal power plants and will ensure the stability of the Ukrainian energy system during peak periods… We have mobilized all available resources in order to ensure the stability of the energy system, light and heat in the homes of Ukrainians in these difficult conditions, especially during the heating season, “DTEK Energo said.
When will the next deliveries be
The company expects that in December three more Panamax-class vessels with coal chartered for the needs of its own generation will arrive in Ukraine.
The total volume of supplies agreed for November – January is almost 470 thousand tons.
DTEK Energo also noted that today the total volume of gas coal already contracted by the company from Poland, the USA and Kazakhstan amounted to over 0.9 million tons, and negotiations on additional volumes of fuel are ongoing.
The first delivery was November 20
Then a Panamax-class vessel docked at the Yuzhny port and brought 60.5 thousand tons of coal. It was reported that the coal is intended for the needs of state-owned thermal power plants of PJSC “Centrenergo”, which have been experiencing an acute shortage of fuel for a long time.
“By the way, this is not the first time that we support state generation and the stability of the Ukrainian energy system. In October, Centrenergo and Donbasenergo urgently shipped about 50 thousand tons of their own coal,” the company said.
The first shipment of coal was completely unloaded at the Yuzhny port on November 24.
