The national demand rose to 26.4 billion kWh, with an increase in energy demand of 5.6% from the beginning of the year compared to the same figure in 2020. A result achieved, according to the national electricity network operator, thanks also to the “strongly positive performance of the industry”, with an increase of 2.9% in the Imcei index, driven in particular by the steel, mechanical and food sectors.
