Stock market: Europe holds after Wall Street, London flat

Economy, the car market closes a difficult 2021 (ANSA)

(ANSA) – MILAN, 05 JAN – Small movements on the equity markets of the Old Continent after the uncertain start of Wall Street and the publication of the main macroeconomic data from the United States (mortgage and employment requests).

The best stock exchange is that of Paris which rose by 0.7%, followed by Frankfurt up by 0.6% and Milan up by 0.5% with the Ftse Mib index. London and Madrid are flat, while Amsterdam drops almost half a percentage point. Gas is confirmed on the rise, with an increase of 5% on the European price lists at 93 euros per megawatt hour.

In Piazza Affari, the most purchased stock among the main ones is Iveco, which rises by 5% to 11.2 euros the day after the 1.9 billion loan signed with a pool of banks.

Pirelli also did very well (+ 3.5%) also supported by a report by JpMorgan and Stellantis, already largely positive and which rose by more than three percentage points after the agreement with Amazon.

With the spread rather stable at 131 basis points, some credit groups are weak with Mediobanca, which is just below par, while Generali is down by 0.6%. Sales also on Inwit (-0.8%) and Campari, which dropped by about one percentage point. (HANDLE).
