The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has calculated the official exchange rate of the dollar and euro against the hryvnia on Monday, January 24:
21.01 | 24.01 | The change | |
---|---|---|---|
1 US dollar | 28.32 UAH | 28.32 UAH | 0 |
1 euro | 32.11 UAH | 32.11 UAH | 0 |
Compared to the NBU exchange rate on Friday, January 21, the dollar and euro exchange rates did not change at all.
What will happen to the dollar
According to Andriy Shevchyshyn, head of the analytics department at Forex Club Group of Companies, the hryvnia exchange rate is kept near the mark of 28.32 hryvnia per dollar after the National Bank of Ukraine raised the discount rate from 9% to 10%, and also tightened reserve requirements by 2%.
He expects that the hryvnia will remain in the range of UAH 28.25-28.40 per dollar in the near future. Next week it is worth preparing for the level of UAH 28.65 per dollar.
By the way, experts advise not to buy the dollar yet for two reasons: to prevent sellers from earning at an increased rate and not to lose their money after the holidays.
Also, as Alexander Boltyan, an analyst at Esperio, said earlier, the first two months in 2022 will be volatile. The rate can stay at the level of 28-28.5 UAH per dollar.
