Over the past year, Queen Elizabeth’s health has deteriorated significantly. It is becoming less and less common to see her at public events.

This year, for the first time in 59 years, Queen Elizabeth II missed the opening of Parliament. At the ceremony, Her Majesty was replaced by her 73-year-old son, Prince Charles.

The Duke of Cornwall was only expected to assume the Queen’s duties once. But Buckingham Palace decided to revise Her Majesty’s job description.

Now, according to Express, the opening of Parliament will not be in the powers of Queen Elizabeth. It is also reported that Prince Charles will be making international visits on behalf of Her Majesty.

As noted in the palace, the queen will continue to personally meet the heads of other states, and also remains “head of state and head of the nation.”
