Today, July 7, we celebrate the day of Ivan Kupala – one of the oldest holidays in Ukraine, filled with magical rites, legends and rituals. On the occasion of the holiday, the ethno-group DakhaBrakha performed the folk song “Oh, on Ivan, that and on Kupala” as part of the project #VOICESOFNATION.

We recorded this song for Ivan Kupala. Therefore, we chose according to the calendar. It talks about the expulsion of a witch from the house, and we want to extrapolate it to the expulsion of evil spirits from Ukraine. They sang with faith in the victory of Ukraine over evil! the members of the group said.

Briefly about #VOICESOFNATION

Vogue UA with the support of TSUM Kyiv on June 8 launched a social and cultural project #VOICESOFNATION with the participation of Ukrainian artists. It aims to promote Ukrainian song and poetry in support of our country in the world. The project will raise funds for the restoration of monuments damaged by Russian aggression.

To participate in #VOICESOFNATION, celebrities have chosen special poems and folk songs that resonate with their hearts. For example, Jamala performed “Sino, my syno”, and ONUKA played the melody “Soloveyko” on the flute, etc.

The project is simultaneously broadcast on all Vogue UA sites – the website, Youtube channel, Facebook and Instagram.

By the way, on June 7, a marathon “Voices of the free are heard throughout the world” was held in support of the Vogue UA project.

Previously, we also wrote that Irina Bilyk became the ambassador of the museum in memory of the “Voice of the Peaceful” of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
