And Steve Carell, 59, left fans stunned by trying to pronounce ‘CBeebies’ in a hilarious clip from Bedtime Stories that went viral on social media.

Steve read the story The Brows of Doom written by Steve Smallman, but trying to pronounce the show’s name provoked laughter after it was posted on Twitter.

In the short video, Steve is seen saying, “Imagine never watching CBG. CC Geebies. CB… well, I guess.

One Twitter user tweeted the nine-second clip, writing, “You can’t beat Steve Carell trying to pronounce CBeebies.”

In response, someone tweeted, “I didn’t have ‘Steve Carell will be on Cbeebies’ on my 2022 bingo card, but here we are.”

“Silver fox,” another wrote with a laughing emoji, while someone excitedly replied, “It’s Mitch Kessler!” After a morning show character.

Speaking about appearing on the show, Steve said: “I loved reading to my kids when they were younger, so it was a joy to read a bedtime story to CBeebies, about a mischievous pair of eyebrows wreaking havoc, something I’m sure we can all relate to.

The father of two, who has a daughter, Elizabeth Ann, 21, and a son, John, 18, with his wife Nancy Carell, answered questions from fans on social media ahead of his appearance.

A viewer revealed a “sweet” misunderstanding with his daughter, who thought they were looking for Doug and the squirrels in the woods rather than trying to identify real squirrels, ending the 30-minute search for the CBBC characters.
