Roberto Cavalli’s autobiography becomes a film

(ANSA) – ROME, NOVEMBER 05 – From the premature death of his father to international catwalks. The life and career of the designer Roberto Cavalli become a film. Produced by ILBE – Iervolino and Lady Bacardi Entertainment, the film directed by Giulio Base will take its title from Cavalli’s autobiography “Just Me!” from which it is taken and whose rights have been optioned by ILBE from Company Freedom srl. The director, who is also entrusted with the drafting of the screenplay, will begin shooting in March 2022 in Italy.

Producer Andrea Iervolino commented: “Roberto Cavalli is a fashion icon whose incredible life cannot be replicated. However, it can be told in a truthful and entertaining way and that’s what we’re going to do with this film. Monika and I are very excited. to tell this story and we believe that the public will be fascinated by Roberto’s life “.

The film will retrace the great personal and professional adventure of an international fashion icon: her childhood memories, the war, her carefree youth in via Maragliano in Florence, her first loves, her lifelong friends, her father. – who was murdered at the hands of German soldiers in 1944, when he was just three years old. But also his path in the world of fashion, the beginnings, the first successes, some disappointments, the prints on leather, the stretch jeans: the film will reveal how Cavalli began to create his fashion, how he undressed and dressed international stars.

With the biographical film on Cavalli and even before that with the one dedicated to Lamborghini, Iervolino and Lady Bacardi Entertainment continues to bring to the world the stories of some of the protagonists of Italian costume, society and entrepreneurship, tales of the Italian genius that so fascinate the international audience. Success stories, humanity and beauty that have contributed to making the Bel Paese great in the world.
