At Sassari Forum annual film and audiovisual scholars

(ANSA) – SASSARI, 08 NOV – FASCinA, the annual Forum of film and audiovisual scholars, is 10 years old and for the occasion is proposed again in great shape, in presence, with four days of conferences, debates and screenings that will take place from 10 to 13 November at the University of Sassari. The fil rouge of the tenth edition is “Sentieri Selvaggi. Cinema and Women’s Studies in Italy”, with the aim of deepening the theoretical and experimental languages ​​and practices of women in cinema and audiovisual production. The 2021 edition, curated by Lucia Cardone and Giulia Simi of the University of Sassari, Farah Polato of the University of Padua and Chiara Tognolotti of the University of Pisa, will focus on narratives in cinema and television, on the gender gap and dynamics of genre in the spectatoriality, to give life to four days of debate that will end at the best of what can be asked of a forum on cinema: the projections of films and productions of film laboratories, which on the evening of November 13 will illuminate the screen of the new Cine Teatro Astra. A concrete way to nourish and fill with meanings “a traditionally deserted landscape of female presences and long considered unsuitable for women”, as the organizers of FASCinA claim.
