Recently Alec Baldwin gave the first interview after what happened on the set of the film “Rust”. The actor admitted to ABC TV that he did not know that the weapon in his hands was real.
He also stated that did not pull the trigger of the gun and, moreover, he did not aim at the members of the film crew.

In an interview, Baldwin said that this is the worst thing that happened to him. However, he does not consider himself guilty and notes that he is not responsible for the death of operator Galina Hutchins.
Someone is responsible for what happened and I cannot say who it is, but I know that it is not me. Honestly, if I felt guilty, I could kill myself … I’m not saying this lightly, – said the Hollywood actor.

Baldwin is also convinced that he will not face criminal charges and added that he continues to cooperate with the police in the investigation of the case.
What happened to Baldwin?
During the filming of one of the scenes of the film “Rust” Alec Baldwin fired a pistol, which was supposed to be loaded with blank cartridges.
As a result of the shot, two people were injured. Director Joel Sousa was shot in the collarbone, he was hospitalized, but later discharged from the hospital. Operator Galina Hutchins was seriously injured… She was taken to hospital where she died.
Galina is survived by her husband and 9-year-old son. Hutchins was originally from Ukraine but had worked and lived in the United States for several years.
