New Stones album this year?: The year of diamonds

It must have been fun to play the Rolling Stones two years ago to play new songs and publish their album “Hackney Diamonds” with the whole around around (advertising campaign, videos, interviews). Because, according to the British tabloid “Sun”, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ron Wood, together with their new drummer Steve Jordan, have been back in a studio in London since April.

The band is said to have thirteen new songs in the works, as an “insider” of the “Sun” revealed, and they are more than happy with everyone. As with “Hackney Diamonds”, it is Andrew Watt again, who should be responsible for the production of the album. It would be the 25th album of the Stones.

After the band had taken almost twenty years with a brand new album like “Hackney Diamonds”, she now seems to be entirely in the mood for the usual publication cycles in pop. Perhaps the creativity boost was so enormous that there was no other way.

In fact, such a new rolling stones album would be one of the Sensations of this pop year, even more than a new album by Neil Young, which will be released this Friday, or the upcoming comeback concerts from Oasis.

The Rolling Stones would have taken their plans for a big tour and, according to “Sun”, would presumably discuss when this new album should be released in the late autumn or end of the year. Another indication of the credibility of the whole: Keith Richard has quartered for the recordings in London in the luxury hotel “The Dorchester”: “It’s the” Sun “insider says.

“Black and Blue” is also released

In addition, the band is planning another publication in November. On the occasion of Ronnie Wood’s 50th anniversary of the band, a newly mastered version of the album “Black and Blue” published in 1976, including two previously unpublished songs, is to be released.

“Black and Blue” was the 13th album of the Rolling Stones, for which they were looking for a successor to their eliminated guitarist Mick Taylor at the time and finally found in Wood, who plays the guitar on the album in the songs “Cherry Oh Baby” and “Hey Negrita”. Wood had previously been with the Stones song “It’s only Rock and Roll”. There is no real hit on “Black and Blue”, but lots of radio, blues, rock, jazz and reggae influences.
