Everyone knows that J.K. Rowling has long been at the epicenter of a scandal over accusations of negative attitudes towards transgender people – she receives many letters with threats from LGBT activists. But it’s not over yet. Recently, American TV presenter and comedian John Stewart, a Jew by birth, accused the writer of anti-Semitism.

Stewart argues that while the similarities between goblins and cartoons are obvious, people rarely realize it. As the presenter added when he showed acquaintances a caricature of Jews from an anti-Semitic book “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” 1903, then they often believed that these were creatures from “Harry potter”.

And they are like this: “Oh, this is a picture from the Harry Potter book!” And you to them: “No, this is a caricature of a Jew from anti-Semitic literature.”… This is the world of magic and witchcraft. There you can fly dragons, have an owl as a pet. But who will run the bank? Jews. Unless we’ll make their teeth sharper, – John is indignant.

The 59-year-old TV presenter added that when he saw the scene where “Jews run an underground bank”, then I thought that the people would be indignant, but they only noted that these were only wizards.

Back in 2020, J.K. Rowling was accused of anti-Semitism because of the goblins “Gringottsa”… But there were also those who spoke out in her defense. In particular, the writer Dan Kaheng noted that this is just a folklore image of bankers in the fantasy world.

By the way, some haters decided that the floor was in the bank. “Gringotts” symbolically decorated with the star of David. However, the filmmakers have nothing to do with it, because this is the real sex in the Australian office in London, where part of the filming took place.

And other critics argue that in “Harry potter” there is a reference to Nazi Germany. So, Voldemort, who wanted to cleanse the world of “mudblood” and Muggles are considered the prototype of Adolf Hitler, who wanted to exterminate the Jews. But the famous lightning-fast sign on the forehead of the protagonist resembles the SS emblem.
